Last Monday the Spanish Business Council hosted together with the AmCham Abu Dhabi and the German Emirati Joint Council for Industry &Commerce the Joint Seminar on the implications of ADNOC’s ICV Program in Abu Dhabi.
The event took place at the Rosewood hotel, where around 100 attendees had the opportunity to get a bigger picture of the Implications of ADNOC’s In Country Value Program.
After the registration, the seminar started with the presentation of ADNOC’s representative, Mona Balalaa, who gave an introducction about ADNOC and continued explaining the different elements of the ICV program.
Coming next, Guillermo Cobelo, Chairman of the Spanish Business Council and General Manager of Tecnicas Reunidas in the UAE, told the audience his experience with ICV programs and gave them some tips as “deal and cooperate with local companies; be able to adapt to a new environment; ask for support to ADNOC they will always deliver and be able to prepare yourself in advance (empowerment through knowledge)”. He specifically mention to the public the importance of being on site in the UAE.
Dr. Tom Deeb of T&M Associates went on with the regulatory structure and requirements of the ICV program. He insisted on the importance for the companies to register for the ICV.
Finally, Dr. Costantin Frank-Fahle of Schlüter Graff Legal Consultans analized the legal aspects of the ICV program.
