American Business Council Dubai & Akin Gump hosted an interactive discussion on the first 100 days of the Trump Administration and explained their implications for UAE businesses. A Republican-controlled House and Senate is promising rapid changes with regard to financial services, tax and trade, among other areas, which are impacting U.S. and international business communities in profound and unprecedent ways.
Prakash Mehta, Partner at Akin Gump explained trough a map how the 2016 election worked out and he focused on the pillars of Trump´s strategy: anti-foreigners sentiment & fighting against stablishment elite. Then he made a personal profile of the President and he examined Trump´s agenda: protectionism, pro-business, repeat/replace Obamacare and rebuild America´s infrastructure.
The panel discussion was formed by Susan Lent, Partner, Akin Gump, Geoffrey Verhoff, Regional Vice Chairman, Republican National Committee Finance and the Honorable Kevin Wolf, former U.S. Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Export Administration and Partner, Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP.
